Hi guys,
Looking to put together a stag 10 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Not all that familiar with black rifle components. Is there a built Stag 10 that you would reccomend with good components, or would it be better to piece on together myself?
Thanks
Mike

Building typically yields better results if you consult with someone knowledgeable.
You’re close by, I’d highly recommend getting in touch with Kurt from RDSC, they’ve got tons of parts and are highly knowledgeable.

There’s CSC in town but they don’t exactly have a lot of parts right now, and seems like they’re not restocking much in the way of black rifle semi autos. Not sure if that’s a hint but take it for what it’s worth.

i was very happy with my proof research carbon fiber barrel for 6.5 cm. they are definitely pricey but i think it was worth the cost for the weight savings and accuracy of the barrel

Ok thanks for the advice! I’ll reach out to him. Are there any components/barrels/etc that I should really consider?

That all comes down to your budget and your intended purpose of this rifle.
That being said, the most critical parts are always the BCG & barrel on any rifle. You don’t have to buy the most expensive but do your diligence and make sure you’re buying well made pieces.

I'd shoot IBI barrels an email. Tell them your wants, needs, and target weight. DMR style, Precision Style, Hunting. Ryan has built a fair number of rifles, and his guidance help me build mine the right way *for me* the first time.

Mine is a DMR style so a lightweight hunter it is not. Stag upper lower. IBI 6.5 Creed in 5R Rifling. Odinworks handguard, Magpul DMR stock and standard grip. Optic for hunting is a 1-7 Sightron, and for long range, a Bushnell 3.5-21 gets swapped in.

Love the rifle, and the advice was well worth it.

Brownells BCG, buffer tube assembly, LPK ,Raptor Ambi CH,,Geissele trigger and handguard for cost savings.
IBI barrels appears to be the best bang for the buck.
RWA usually has the best price on IBI barrels.
Your looking at 9lb rifle +\- a couple ounces.
You could drop a lb by going with a CFW barrel.
I’ve owned proof and Christensen Arms CFW barrels and would buy either one again.

You could get a CA CFW for about $900 CAD.
