The sig P226 9mm is on my list as the first to buy after the .22. I've just heard the gun quality just isn't there on the .22's like the larger 9mm and 45's made by Sig.

Some good suggestions on this thread though for sure!

Hard to beat the Ruger MK III for price, reliability, accuracy and customization. And by hard to beat I mean impossible.....

I wouldn't say "horrible"...but different for the first few times you do it.
Lots of Youtube vids on the subject.

I would say horrible :D but that didn't stop me from buying a new Mark III Target this weekend . What a great .22 for the price.

I hate waiting...:(

I have a Sig Mosquito for a little over a year now. No problems other than sh*tty ammo. Shoot the right ammo and the gun works fine. Mini Mags FTW.

My MKIII will shoot the cheapest ammo I can find with maybe 1 failure to feed in a 500 round box. Maybe 2 per 500 if it is the second box in a day without cleaning.

Stripping a Ruger Mk series gun is horrible only to those that don't follow simple written directions. I can do a full strip and cleaning in no more time than say, a 1911.

If you skip steps or ''think you can do it faster this way..." then, yes they don't go together as quickly.

No, it is horrible either way.

Wow cadgo,

Those pictures of the Sig and the Walter; what's the story behind those? Are you saying they're really that bad??

When I was searching for a .22 handgun my google searches brought me across quite a few stories like that, almost always just using normal ammo. The slides on those guns are flimsy and thin, I am quite sure I could break them with my hands. And while I like the buckmark as well it also has a pretty flimsy slide.

It seems highly unlikely that this could happen to a Ruger Mark III because of the way it is built.
