Suggestions on a hunting scope on a budget

If you didn't know anything about hunting scopes, hunting rifles or even the conditions you were going to be hunting under you could still blurt out VX-3 3.5-10 at the scope counter and be in pretty good shape.

I ended up picking up a Bushnell Elite 3-9x40 from Trade Ex Canada, i'll give this a whirl but I think it'll do me fine, thanks everyone for your feedback/suggestions
