Suggestions please for NR

I have a JRC in 45 and love it. Never have had any issues with the gun, and the company is fantastic to deal with. Holds 10 rounds legally and you can pimp it out with all the AR accessories your heart desires.

I agree the swiss rifles are a great choice, but if the other rifles he is looking at are:

-Benelli MR-1,
-CX-4 Storm,
-JR Carbine,
-Kel-Tec Sub 2000

Then I take back my earlier advice about the SL8 and would also submit he's not going to buy a Swiss Arms. We're suggesting guns in the $2300+ range to a guy shopping in the $500-1500 range.

Just sayin'...

The SL8 is a great rifle but with terrible ergonomics, the MR-1 ergonomics are not better but the rifle is 1000.00 cheaper and a MR-1 can match the SL8 accuracy with a tailored load, so the SL8 is stuck in the middle, now if the OP have the means, the Swiss is the one to get for accuracy and best rifle overall, a Tavor may have a bigger fun factor but being a 223, i would say just wait out a RFB which is 308 and you can use it for hunting, that what i am doing... JP.

Yes, the Swiss Arms look very nice, but as Claven pointed out the price is quite high.

Any opinions on the CSA 5.56 (accuracy, reliability)? It looks decent with the M4 stock.

What about something like this? ;)

The price on the Kel Tec SU-16 puts it high on the list if your budget is tight. I love mine, 100% consistant and reliable so far. And LIGHT! I intend to add some weight with the AR stock, but it can only improve the balance.

JR is a little more $, but so far Ive found it less reliable (still breaking in tho) and the magwell could use improvement. AR accessory compatibility and the factory quad rail are major plusses, and the ambi-features rock. Overall I like it, but its still just a stop-gap until I Finally get my hands on the S2K. Someday.Maybe.Waiting.Still.

Agreed the SL8, as shipped, has terrible ergos. BUT - you can convert it to take AR grips, which makes the problem moot. Then it costs as much as the Swiss though...

That being said, I sold my Swiss and kept the SL8. Had about the same $ into them, but the SL8 with the CHF bull barrel shot better with a wider range of loads.

YMMV.

SL8 works great, I love what Claven did too his, man I'm very envious. Great stuff. If you are willing to slowly change the rifle over time to save the expense, I think that is an awesome strategy.
Hard to say if I would go Swiss Arms or Sl8, pretty tough decision.

I want to capture this on camera. Do they also dip them in pure mountain spring water and christen them?

Nah, they christen them with the bottled blood of ancient vanquished enemies. The assembly is accompanied by the lamenting of defeated enemies women. It's kind of a multi media, surround sound spook fest with guns, Gods and half naked women dancing in the moonlight. Great stuff.
