What's the general consensus on these? Sturdy, reliable, box lock actions made in the GDR by the Communists. Lock up, go bang, that's all you can ask for it? How is the fit and finish? Durability? Are they designed to hold up to skeet/trap/sporting clays or just hunting?

And is Full/Full chokes a big disadvantage in today's arena?

I have one and it is nicely finished. it points well for me, mine has a lot of cast off, the most i'v ever seen on a shotgun in fact. and a lot of drop so I dont have to drop my head at all. I seemed to hit clays as well as or even a little better than my more open choked O/U, but it is light for clays, maybe a recoil pad would help with this.

Full choke is still okay depending on what you are going to do. It's good for trap but this isn't really a dedicated trap gun. It might be good if you are a pheasant hunter although I wouldn't want both bores full choke. Full choke is no good for steel shot for waterfowl. You can have the chokes opened up though to whatever you want. But the gun should be patterned to see what chokes it really is shooting.
