Informal is fine! Only in Jolly Old England do you have to wear a tweed jacket and tie and only a SXS

That gun will be fine until you start winning or losing on a regular basis, Then you will need to buy a new gun.

Yeah, mod/imp cyl is okay for informal shooting, but you'd be at a disadvantage if shooting in competition. Typical chokes for trap are full/mod.
With those chokes you're kinda half way between skeet and trap. You could probably do okay at either sport, but not great.
The 30" barrels are conducive to the smooth swing you want for trap. They're longer than ideal for skeet, though.
No reason you can't shoot with what you have until you're satisfied that your technique has improved beyond your equipment.
