I have jug of sulfuric acid I liberated from a job that went tits up long ago. It's just been sitting in my basement for years.

Anyway, think it would be useful for cleaning brass? Does brass react with sulfuric acid?

You should probably get rid of this as the plastic jugs can get brittle over time. I've seen old swimming pool "Muriatic Acid" jugs so brittle you can poke your finger right though them.

If it's in glass then you should be fine.

as a mechanic, I always used it to clean electrical contacts.

pull the terminals out of the connector, dip just the terminal (not the wire) then rinse it off, cleans all that green corrosion stuff off

never dip a whole plastic connector tho, I dipped a trailer plug in acid once, never again it kind of melted the whole connector, live and learn lol

good stuff tho, just don't breath in the fumes or get it on anything but what you want to clean

I've never seen anyone mention "CLR". Home Depot sells something similar in a gallon jug.
Like all residential chemicals, it's buffered and takes a long time to react, but it works great
for me. It will remove light scratches if you leave it long enough.

Ive tried that stuff for a couple different jobs, and never had good luck with it. Some people se\wear that it works.
