Summer Coyote Hunting in Southern ON?

My friend and I are out in my stand right now (1200pm) and we've been here since about 600am. We brought a some expired meat from his fridge to use as bait. So far we haven't seen anything but heard a pack howling.

honestly i've bought 3 and they're all ridiculously easy to call. i like the swift 220 he has but they're all pretty good.
check out the set he has. if memory serves me well its 5 different calls, for $45;it was a big hit with members here. and yes he does ship to canada, and it is still free. if you're unsure of which call is best, just ask him. i did and he researched my area to see what would be better, then sent me the appropriate ones. im having brain fart but i think it was a couple jack rabbits distress calls, and a the swift.
the best you can do is talk to kerry directly. he's a great guy and knows his products better than anyone on here.
The 5 call package is called "Strictly Business". It has 3 open reed howlers, long distance, medium and short and two closed reed distress calls. The larger distress is the jackrabbit one, smaller one is a cottontail.
I love these calls. The jackrabbit distress is my go-to call. Great volume and you can make it really raspy (works best for me) or very high pitch. The closed reed only froze up on me a few times last winter. Called in and shot a few coyotes using the howler and distress last winter.
Kerry carver is a great guy, you will not be disappointed with his service.
Have you got a decoy at all? I find they work wonders. A lot of the time when you are calling, A coyote will run to the edge of the bush and stop and look out in the field for the source of the sound. If they see movement a lot of the time they will be fixed right on it and bee-line right for the decoy. If they don't see anything to put with the sound, they are more likely to slip downwind and wind you before you even see them.
First and last light they seen to be the boldest, That's when I have my best luck, start my call the second its legal to shoot, Because sometimes it only takes 30 seconds of calling and you got your gun in your shoulder. I usually make a stand for 45min to an hour so that's when I start calling before dark.
Set up is a huge factor in being successful I think. If you set up so your wind is blowing towards the bush that holds coyotes, you will never see a thing. They catch one wiff of you and they will be gone. Don't think scent control is going to beat their nose, you have to play the wind right.
Don't over call a spot either. Coyotes will figure out your tune and all you will be doing is making them smarter. Hit multiple spots, I like to only call one spot twice a month.
Thats my opinion anyways, I'm waiting another 2 weeks for the wheat to come off. Soon as its cut I will make a few stands right before dark. Think i'm going to use my Miss November doe decoy in the bedded position playing fawn/deer distress with my coyote decoy about 100 yards away. Maybe give a few excited howls in the mix, That usually gets the local coyotes to come check it out.
