Summer Slam V, Dalhousie, New Brunswick

The only disappearing targets were on the boat. You could see partial targets on the raising and falling targets.

Does anyone recall stage 15,...there was 2 disappearing targets,...if you only get 1 hit per target,...you get 2 no penalty mikes,...correct? My time sucked but was wondering why my points were so low on that stage. Note to self,...always check score.

Nope, stage 15 had drop turners that were disappearing!

And I agree that the targets on stage 1 were not disappearing as well!

And the targets on stage 8, the boat stage, were NOT disappearing targets! Part of the A zone was available before AND after the targets were activated, the very definition on Non-disappearing targets!

9.9 Moving targets will be scored in accordance with the following:

9.9..1. . Moving targets which present at least a portion of the highest scoring area
when at rest (either before or after initial activation), or which
continuously appear and disappear for the duration of a competitor’s
attempt at a COF, will always incur failure to engage and/or miss
penalties except when Rule 9.2.4.5 applies.

9.9.2. . Moving targets, which do not comply with the above criteria, will not
incur failure to engage or miss penalties unless a competitor fails to
activate the mechanism which initiates the target movement.

I just assumed everyone knew the boat stage targets were not disappearing,..I shot them stationary, because I could see them before the activator was hit and after.

the ones on boat stage were disappearing. you could see the A zone, only if jumped up on the box area, which may not have been anticipated...
regardless of rule # this or that.... they were in fact for this match, disappearing... the score sheets even had them on there as such...
as were the drop turners on stage 15...

anyways, I didnt have to check how they were scored, cause i think i had all hits on them...:D

So does that mean we can expect you at Summer Slam 6 ??? maybe be we can put a roof , and you save a hotel !!!!!! thats if you are not scared of thing that crawl !!!!

You can Expect another EESA Invasion that is certain!!

We have been singing the praised since we returned.

I can honestly say that it was the best stages I have ever shot ( and that includes my matches).

Lol, so I log into CGN after several/few weeks away, go to the "freshest" match thread (this one), go to the last page, and what do I see? Posts quoting IPSC rules... Hahaha - well, at least it's good to see/know not much has changed recently!!! :) :)

just bringing this thread back up so some folks can see what the slam was like last year. For the new folks that are coming this year my advice is bring ammo and lots of it. When you think you have enough pack some more.

Maurice, our local canadian bdx pusher can probably supply what you need if you do not want to drag the ammo to dalhousie.

I think the round count was 300 and something last year and I went through over 400 rounds and I am not a spray and pray style shooter.

thanks for the push Jay,.....if anyone coming needs ammo,,..(ie: flying you want be able to bring enough), I could have ammo ready for you. I will have 124gr 9mm BDX FMJ ammo,..137pf approx out of a CZ shadow. I will also have Canadian BDX .40 ammo,..180gr FMJ, approx 177-/+ pf. (depending on barrel, but will make PF)
