Just got in from a hunt this morning, a ripper too!

Shot this guy about 8-830am after watching a few different species on the flats, noticed him sneaking back off up the gulley floor.... the chase was on!

Shot with 140gr Winchester Supreme Accubonds out of a Remington 700 SPS .270winchester!

Havnt measured it officially, but its a PB in length for me, an those BROWS!!! wowzers!!!!!

ps- it is a out of sync Stag, as all other Sambar are halfway through Velvet, if that. As ya can see this guy is well Rubbed has been for some time!

hehe No bugs mate, but FLYS!!!!! they carry ya back down the hill, soon as the shadows are gone BAM! facenets work well this time of year not just for the camoflauge side of things!

Hey Whelenlad, congratulations! A nice deer for sure. I am curious, about the summer weather there. My oldest son is working there for the next few months as a forest fire fighter. He is located in in Powelltown out of Melbourne. I hear that it is very hot and bush fires have been a menace lately. My son is out of touch and working hard no doubt. Any news you can send my way?
 
Longwalker, Victoria copped some Big fires just this past week, Although more out West in the Western Victorian disticts!!!
NSW is copping the big out of control fires as we speak an Temps in Both states are hitting 40+ degrees an 37-39 on the Regular! Hot winds havnt been to helpful either, And the worst of al is there is FIRE BUGS who are lighting fires in semi suburban areas waiting for the Firetruck an then lighting another one just across the park.... WTF!!!!

Victoria is on high alert, an no rain is forecast for several weeks, I'd say your Son will be busy!!! He is near where massive fires were only 2-3 years ago, aka black friday.

He will be fine, good crews down there an alot of man power on the ground!!

powwelltown, there is sambar there too ;)
