Summerland Long Range Fun Shoot 2008 - April 12, 13th

Glock, still a ways off with work but thinking more on Friday instead of Monday. If I can't make it up, you guys can certainly go up anytime.

PM me and let me know if you guys are ok with Friday and I will try and shuffle the work schedule to fit.

Jerry

Where is this taking place? Directions to the location? I live in Summerland, so I just need a general direction.

I can't make it in the morning, but I might like to interrupt mid-day to shake some hands, if I can chisel some time out of my schedule.

I could be wrong but I think it was north of downtown. I think we head out of town North West and then take a road through an indian reserve to a goat path up a mountian. We'll sent out some smoke signals. LOL

Listen for the booms of thunder...

Dack9, send me a PM.

Except for a couple of guys, I have the menu list complete.

Funny, I was surprised that so many of the Alta guys wanted salmon and a lite salad.

Maybe, to help them shoot prone more comfortably :)

You guys can order your own mineral water when you get to dinner.

A few tents are going to show up which is great. Things continue to be cold wet and wintery so wouldn't surprise me if we need to hide between showers. More tents/awnings the better.

I think a number of gongs and swinging targets are also showing up. Just be warned that they will get hammered by some big sticks. They will leave with a few beauty marks.

got a box or two of clays coming which is fun, radios and camera equipment. We should be able to have pics and video of the shoot.

Seems that seeing me launch some 223 slugs into the wild blue yonder is of big interest. Let's hope for winds under 10mph without a lot of gusts. Be alot of fun.

If there are any cancelations, please contact me asap. If you haven't booked a room, you might be in trouble as construction crews for the highway are booking everything in sight. Check for highway delays coming from Kelowna south - bridge, and Summerland.

For those wanting to do some really extreme LR shooting, PM by next week. We might be able to set something up before the weekend shoot.

Hope that everyone has a great Easter holiday with plenty of time to work on your toys. Time is ticking away quickly and we will be shooting in a few weekends.

If you have more gear items that you think might be useful, please PM me. As of right now, there will be no food offered during the event. If someone is motivated to run a BBQ or whatever, please let me know.

Jerry

We'll be bringing a good sized tarp. and maybe tie it down between vehicles to keep things dry. I'd imagine we won't have vehicles picking up and F**k'n off with the winds you guys get.

I can't wait to do this shoot. It's going to be awesome.

We're going out this Sunday to do some shooting as well.

Well, the van I was going to camp out in has valve trouble. If anyone wants to split the cost of a room, pm me...

Looking forward to hearing about it. You guys are truly fortunate to be able to pull of an event like this.

Hope y'all have a great shoot.

Sure wanted to come down there this year, but I gotta be in Phoenix, watchin' racecars.

Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Cheers

The long range target areas have been flagged and ranged.

There is a Marmot living with the 'GOPHER'.

A family of 5 mulies at the 1 mile rocks.

And the usual horses.

The dinner is arranged. Lots of salad ordered for the Albertans. Thought they would have prefered steak but who can tell...

28 shooters coming with approx 60 rifles. From the 223 to the BMG!!!!

Hope everyone has been loading up lots of ammo and dialing in their scopes. Be prepared for rain.

Got a new addition that could help my 6.5 mystic make it to 2600yds - give or take a few. 1 mile today was no problem. Still have approx 100mins of up left to go. Modding my stock and its getting a new paint job. Nothing like last minute rush.

More shooting next week to confirm drops beyond a mile.

Fun, fun, fun...

Jerry

leverlover, if you come out, you WILL shoot. There is no problem using my rifles and I am sure others will only be too happy to let you try their rigs.

This is a low key fun bunch of guys who only want to burn some powder, learn a bunch of new things, push their gear to silly distances,

And of course, taunt Albertans (yeah, yeah, yeah, I am just jealous).

Now if you do want to shoot skeet, NO PROBLEMO. Just be prepared to start at 80yds and move on out to 150yds. Better bring those super tight chokes and some buckshot.

Taunt Albertans!! Heck Jerry you guy's didnt know what long range shooting was until the Albertans showed up!!:p:D
It's realy to bad you guys are so limited because your mountains are too close together!!:D:sniper: We will get you out to god's country to try out moving targets some time!!:D:dancingbanana:

And P.s. I orderd the BEEF!!:dancingbanana:

LRC, it's about time I got a response from someone over the hill. I thought you guys had all gone and hid under the snow.

We got lots of hills and there are two some 2500 to 2600yds apart (ranging this week) that has your name on it. Keep doing the Sun Dance - the weather report shows things clearing but windy. Mucho Gusto!!!!

Please confirm your ETA into Summerland by Wed. Arranging for us to meet by 1pm Friday at the High School parking lot and head out. Hope that a few guys will join us but most have defined travel schedules and are coming in that night. We will all make noise on Saturday.

Oh, I did check with the restaurant. Deb has the Salmon but they ran out of steak for you.

The nice leafy greens, lightly seared almonds and tofu that was ordered originially is fine but you will have to wrestle Glockamaniac for his steak. :)

Glock, ATR and Blackcloud, if you can make it in earlier that would be great. If not, PM me and I will give you directions to come up and join us later in the afternoon. I got to bale around 4 but you guys can keep shooting till whenever. Gets dark around 6 nowadays.

Otherwise, see you all before 8"30am Saturday.
