Summerland Long Range Fun Shoot - CANCELED, Sorry guys

im gonna bring up some more cable with me with extra cable anchors just in case that happens. i was going to go with chain, but then i would have had to go buy some. im also going to bring up some extra anchor plates as well.

I've got some 5/16th chain that we could use if those cables fail. I will bring it along but I don't have a way to cut them up there. Might someone have a set of bolt cutters???

I suppose my method of thinking was the smaller they are, the harder they are to hit. By all means, do your best to blow them appart. That's what they are for. And if I have to fix them all Saturday night, so be it.lessons learned. I thought I had some rebar laying around in the back but I didn't and I didn't feel like cutting up a length of perfectly good 1x1 tube. I'll go snooping around tomorrow and see what other stuff I can come up with.

I just acquired about 15 or so pieces of 5/8 in rebar all about 3 to 4 feet long for the targets. I tried them with the targets and they fit in the holes perfectly :D I might be able to get more, I'll keep you posted.

and for the complete ones. I tested them out in the shop with a ball peen hammer and i think my ears might be bleeding a little. There is nothing for the sound to escape on, like a big heavy chain or re bar so it is essentially....... a gong.

Would you make me a few that I could take home with me?
How much would you want for each one?

Hey mike, if they are still intact after the weekend, you can have a few. I wouldn't mind keeping the big one and a 10" and you can have the others if you want. And as for the frames........ The wood frames should be easy to bung together.

Cool...I wouldnt need a frame, just the plates.

I can rig up some small frames here at home.

Im sure these ones will get torn up by 300gr SMK's and 750gr AMAX's flying from the 338LAI and 50BMGs :)

Well, we are nearing the home stretch. The air is warming up and the snow is melting. Should be clear and dry be early April.

Now the important stuff - DINNER!!!

I have reserved the Summerland Ridge Golf Course Restaurant again. Food and service were excellent last year and the portions very generous for the cost. Also, just a couple of km's from the Rosedale Hotel heading north towards Kelowna. Just watch for the Sumac Winery turn off at the end of the long flat.

All meals are $28 (no tip included) and include soup or salad; Main meal w/ baked potato and veggies; coffee/tea and desert. I doubt you will leave hungry. They have appys and a full bar so if you get there early, you can get started.

1) New York AA Steak (my choice)
2) BBQ Baby Backed Ribs
3) Salmon- baked
4) Cornish Game Hen.

Please post your dining desires. Our reservation opens at 6pm so you will have plenty of time to get cleaned up.

I hope that those planning to camp will still join us for dinner. Anyways, would like to get everyone's menu choices by the end of next week (April 3).

Let me know...

Jerry
