Summerland Long Range Fun Shoot - CANCELED, Sorry guys

Over the Easter Weekend, I found out that there will be fair amount of local traffic in the shooting area this weekend. Been trying find a way to both play up there but there is no simple solution.

Due to expected traffic in and around our area all weekend, I have to call the shoot off. There is little point in running a serious risk of liability/conflict.

I am truly sorry for this and will return the $20 sent ASAP. I will also be sending everyone a PM so that they can get me mailing info.

I hope that we can find a way to 'secure' the area for future events or even a new location as this type of headache, we don't need.

I really appreciate all the interest and support I have received for this event. All those who have made gongs and helped me in other ways, I truly appreciate it and a great big THANKS.

If there is a way to get something dialed in for later in the year, I will definitely get something organized. However, for this weekend, not going to happen.

Well you can always take in the Penticton 2 day gun show

Tragic. Those that come anyways could get together at a range? BS and shoot some paper? Summerland and/or Kelowna? I could bring my 50 AE Desert Eagle too!!

John

I'd be into trying some sort of get-together somewhere. I've booked the time off, so if we can come up with a substitute, I'm in. I'd suggest the Cache Creek range, but we're talking a max of 375yds, and about 10 or 12 positions on the rifle range. There is, however, a handgun range out to 50m.

Anyway, any ideas anyone? Anything going on at KTSA?

the place is probably going to get slammed with guys on dirtbikes and quads if theres no snow. what about going to some other places up there? has anyone else checked to see how far up the snow has melted??? i know of some MASSIVE clearcuts up here in kelowna. Just dont think the snow will be gone in time. So now i got 10 gongs just sittin in the shop. Anyone want one? Haha. now i dont feel so bad about not having my rifle up and running.

There's a chance we could book the KTSA range for Saturday, but we'd have to act quickly. Costs around $200.00.

I just heard about this from Lineofsite, man that sucks.
I was looking forward to having you guys test my welds.

Hopefully it gets re-scheduled and I can test them myself!

Well, if there are guys coming into the valley, we can go shoot at the Summerland Range.

The main section is 100yds but there is a parallel range to go out to 200yds.

More a chance to meet and greet and do some SR blasting.

So let's see a show of 'hands' that want to go shooting Sat for a few hours.

Aw man Jerry,

That really and truly sucks big time. I guess I'm glad I signed up for Mission after all :)

Maybe we can work something out in our valley here later in the year; I'm only completely over-run with gophers and have 1 mile of open country to shoot, but at least its better than tin cans on the 50 yard berm....
