sunday coyote hunting in Alberta?

Excuse my ignorance, but could someone clarify this for me. I know that the Alberta regulations state that coyotes can be hunted at any time of the year, but does this include Sundays? I want to be sure, before I go out, and before I call the Fish and Wildlife office, I thought that someone out there must know for sure. Thanks for the help

This is a good question. First, coyotes are not open all year on public lands, only on private lands. As far as I can tell, this difference also applies to Sunday hunting for yotes; if you are on private land (with permission to hunt yotes and other predators) then the "any time of the year without a license" rule applies. If you are in the forestry zone there is a season on yotes, last time I checked. So I guess that is the question you should ask the F&W cop - when can I hunt yotes when I am hunting @ ?????

Coyote
A Resident may, without a licence and on land to which he or she has the right of access, hunt (but not trap) coyote at all times of the year throughout the province, except as follows:
1) on public lands in the Green Area, only from October 1, 2006 to February 28, 2007, and
2) in Camp Wainwright (WMUs 728 and 730), only from December 12, 2006 to February 28, 2007.

Subject to the exception (*) below, a Non-resident or Non-resident Alien who holds a valid Non-resident/Non-resident Alien Wolf/Coyote Licence may hunt coyote on lands to which he or she has the right of access at all times of the year throughout the province - except on public lands in the Green Area where the season is from October 1, 2006 to February 28, 2007.

*Exception: if a big game season (other than a cougar season) is open in the area he or she is hunting, then the Non-resident or Non-resident Alien hunter of coyotes must possess a current big game licence issued for that area and open season.
