Just curious folks, what provinces DON"T allow Sunday hunting? I know my own province of Nova Scotia doesn't but are there any others? A liberal MPP here is supposedly proposing legislation to allow it and I'm looking for info to argue with the people who oppose it.

Although the Sunday hunting regulations have changed over recent years here in Alberta, there are still a few restrictictions that don't allow Sunday Hunting (or Monday or Tuesday) in certain areas.

Same here in Ontario, some communities still have bylaws against Sunday hunting some don't. I believe some also changed the no hunting regulation on Rememberance Day.

So some areas of Alberta and Ontario allow it and others don't? The proposal here,I believe,is just for the 5 sundays of deer season. All other seasons will not be included.

When did that change?

A few years ago the Sask party took power and put a nice lady in charge of parks and environment. This lady has a brother who is a big hunter and he has gave her quite a few ideas as to how things should be done.

At least that is the story I heard.

Next thing you know they will be letting non-resident Canadians hunt the Southern Zones for big game without a guide ........................ ;)

Well in Alberta we had church ministers for premiers for 75 years or something like that.So no sunday anything. When I was younger we were not even supposed to make a cheque out on a sunday even. It has taken years for Alberta to get as far as it has.If you had a two dollar bill even you were looked at with suspicion.

Not positive but I think it had to do with previous votes from the SWF. With recent changes in thoughts on Sunday hunting, they put pressure on the govt to allow it. Sunday gave the animals " a day of rest ". There was very limited hunting time for some people with only weekends off. By allowing Sunday hunting their hunting time has been doubled. It seems like a good idea to me..
