Yesterday morning we headed out for a field hunt and I must say that this has been one of the most technically challenging hunts I've been on. The cold made everything harder. The wind shifted making us need to move our setup. The sun was bright. The birds were decoy shy. It was so cold both my cameras were almost useless. I had one freshly charged battery pack give me literally 15 seconds of video before it died. However we did get one of the nicest looking mallard ducks I've ever seen. I love when they are prime, with full feathers, and the tail all curly. Beautiful. Almost makes you forget the frozen toes.
