Sunshades on tactical scopes

I am going to install a 2.5" sunshade on my 3.5x10-40mm Leupold M3 LR. Anyone else use sunshades on their scopes? Pros? Cons?

Seems to be a small investment for reduced glare off the objective lens on a tactical type rifle setup.

I have a 2" sunshade with honeycomb filter built in on my US Optics SN3. I like it and for the minimal cost - why not?

The range I shoot at faces north,in the evening when the sun is out last year I would get glare,this year I switched to a scope that has a 2" shade,it helps.

No down side. They reduce glare and keep crap from getting on the lenses.
