Not really sure.
Like the title says,

If I was to buy a new one from a dealer, are the welds still going to let go with the barrel falling off in 1-1000 rounds?.

Do they still feed like crap?.

Why is TNW schitting the bed so hard?

Thanks.

For the shabby work in attaching the barrel to the receiver, the price is ridiculous. I would rather buy a Finnish mosin and save some money.

There is a video on YouTube where the barrel fell off during a range shoot along with colourful commentary.

I had my m31 tig welded by Drivers welding here in town and then matt blued by pullins gunsmithing. It looks GREAT and with it welded no more issues for me. I have had it 1.5 years now. I havent seen any new ones thought.

Now if you had gone across the road behind the Shell station, you would have ended up with a MUCH more tidy TIG job.

That said, your M31 will hold up just fine with the work performed on 'er. These weapons are far too heavy for my likin' but what the hey, they're fun to shoot.:)

Now I know very little about the gun in question but I'm just wondering if the TIG welding like that would affect the heat treat of any critical components? I know TIG is pretty localized as far as heat goes.

Also just curious why you didn't grind/smooth the welds after?

When TIG welding of areas where heat can effect original metal strength or hardness, proper application of
shielding and heat sinks will assure a safe job. In the case of this K31, there will be no concern in this particular
application. It will be most adequate due to the robustness of the metal as well as the full weld job.

It just looks bush is all.:)

other then the barrel falling off issue which is fixable relatively easy, and the heavy trigger pull is their any other problems?
