Just got back from Edmonton tonight, got a buch of reloading stuff and picked up a SKS from Grizz (Thanks again). This thing is a mess! LOL. The barrel and Barrel adapter were loose, move in my hands loose. My go/no go gauges were going and gone in this rifle. I pressed the entire rifle together with about 400 lbs, this allowed me to properly check the head space, it checked out great!. I didn't get a shot of the rifle before I pressed it but you could see daylight betreen the reciever and the op rod housing, had to be 1/16" slop in the whole thing. I Vee'd the barrel to adapter and adapter to reciever and proceeded to weld the damn thing in place. This is a spray and pray toy for the girlfriend, as long as it is safe, accuracy isn't paramount.
Can't believe Lever would sell this crap. I have an actual Chinese SKS with a pinned barrel, it is a piece of art compared to this one!
Reciever end.
Wasn't going for pretty!
Let you guys know how it shoots after tomorrow, got to be better than what it was, head space is good and there is lots of weld there. Should be good enough to chuck Czech surplus 50 yards!
