Keep tuned for exciting new ways to RE-use all those old detached NORC M14 flash hiders on M14 shorties. I'll be unveiling a few new designs at the Victoria M14 seminar.
Happy Halloween.
Also in the works,
M14 shorty CLAMP on front sight bases ... similar in concept to the Ruger AC 556 design ... which by the way, DID come with a bayonet lug.
My machinest wants $ 49 each to CNC mill up my clamp on front sight base design. This
is before finishing [ probably parkerising ] and this puts the price higher than the Gas Ring Front Sight type designs. I'm trying to economise the machine work, but .... is anyone willing to pay $ 80 for an M14 SHORTY clamp on front sight base? Remember, you still will need the usual 1/2" X 28 TPI AR 15 type flashider or compensator .. this is ONLY the front sight base.
Of course, I think a clamp on front sight base is better than the GRFS designs because you don't take the sight off to clean the gas tube, and you can move the clamp on design to index perfectly WITHOUT having to redial the barrel, and the sight radius is longer, and it use the existing M14 front sights to give the same sight picture, and ...
you get the idea.
And NO,
a bayonet lug is NOT part of the design for M14 Clamp On Front Sight Base, Model 1 ...
but maybe Model 2??
