At the risk of total embarrassment I have to ask about Lee Pro 1000 presses...

I'm only familiar with more simple press setups. This rig looks like a good thing for pumping out a good number of rounds in a short time.

Is it a good idea for a newbie who wants to reload one (maybe two) calibers?

Are there similar presses which have a better reputation or quality?

Point me in the right direction....

Dillon is probably the best of the lot. next in line would probably be the Hornady Lock and Load. The 1000 falls last on the list partially because it does not have a space for a crimp die. for this in a lee you have to go to the loadmaster.

Lee 1000

It is a miserable piece of machinery. You can pound ammo if you learn a couple tricks. I have had a great bunch of advice from the Nutz out there and have learnt to make it work. Nobody said reloading was easy:confused:

Search the forum as there is some good advise out there.
