Super Sniper scope

A good bunch of us on here have them. I personally have the SS10X mounted on my 700LTR in .308. I like it a lot, the large eye lense makes the viewing area very nice, the optics are actually quite clear, especially for the price, and it is super tough. I hear they are coming out with a variable version soon, but would probably be a bit of a wait until someone up here decides to put one up

I've got a couple of them, 10x & 16x. Wouldn't think of getting rid of either one. Very pleased with the optics and adjustments. Good scopes for the $'s spent.
Just hard to get them thats all, SWFA will not ship to Canada nor will they accept a foreign CC for payment.

Ya they told me the same thing that they won't ship to Canada. How did you get yours? I guess it is time for me to make friends with some Americans in Buffalo. I thought they did have a variable scope.

I think the attraction is you're getting a "tactical" scope for a minimal price. These scopes have most of the bells and whistles of scopes much more costly, yet measure up in all aspects. Adjustable objective, 30mm maintube, 120 minutes of adjustment, mil-dot reticle, 50BMG okay, Extremely good glass. I have tried a side to side comparison between my Leupold Vari X III and my Bushnell 3200 10x and the Super Sniper, and when going from the Leupold to the 3200 you do notice what better optics are, I have a hard time noticing much difference between the SS and the Leupold. Both are very clear and have lots of contrast. SWFAs' customer service is second to none. They back these scopes 100%, no questions asked.
It's too bad that for those of us that own them, we won't get the same service out of country.

Yes, I have a Few, How many you wanted and how much you willing to pay for one, I have both rear focus and side focus...

I am only willing to pay as much as it costs from their website. I do have a friend in Buffalo so I could just easily get her to order it for me and I go get it from her.

Yes, he who finds a friend [in the USA] has found a treasure.

IMO, for the money you will not go wrong. They run head to head with the Mark 4. In Canadian F-Class the Super Sniper dominated back in the late 90's early 2000. Ain't been at the range since then. The only thing I change on them is the turret O-Rings to skinny ones. Makes them easier to turn for competition.

I've got a SS 16X on my precision rig. Solid scope that has never let me down. The adjustments are precise, optics are clear and the adjustment range for elevation is more than enough for 1000y/m shots (about 100MOA). IMHO, you can't go wrong on them. I got mine from SWFA a number of years ago, before all the 911 sh*t. It's too bad they don't/can't ship to Canada any more :(

I had one that came on my first 10FP McMillan, very nice scope, but besides the focus, I find no big differance between it and the Bushnell 3200 10X tactical. As for standing up to the punch of a .50. The Bushnell is one of two scopes that Barrett offers as a "FACTORY INSTALLED" scope, you would not go wrong with eihter, just that if something did go wrong with the SS, it would be difficult to get it fixed. Now that being said, I have not heard of anyone having a problem with the SS. We as a group sould find a Hakko Dist. here in Canada and if they do not have one, lobby some of the dealers here to bring them in. Same scope, just a differant name.

SWFA own the rights to the Super Sniper now and have for some time. I was at SWFA Red Oak, TX before Christmas. There are no plans at this time to setup any Canadian importer. Believe me, if it could happen I'll be the first to open shop. He'll still take US money, but never a Canadian or foreign credit card.
