I thougtht I might post some pictures of my new gun which should arrive luckily 2 days after christmas, kindof a gun boxing day present. I will be new to the 1911 world and this should be a wicked start. I am really curious about using this for a draw gun after my black badge, does anybody know of a good holster that won't wreck the finish. Anyways now for the picture,

I have been mulling over a possible STI version for a while in .40 since I shoot alot of it, but then I thought "what the hell, its Christmas and I don't have a 45"

I'm not sure what you mean by "a draw gun" but I use my 1911 in IPSC with a CR Speed holster. The only wear on my gun is on the trigger guard. If your frame is uncoated stainless, you shouldn't see anything at all.

Other than that sort of thing, there's no such thing as a holster that won't wear finish at certain points on the gun. Keep any holster you get clean. Outdoor shooting gets fine dust everywhere and inside of the holster, the grit will act like sand paper.
