I loaded up some 150gr TSX 30-06 from my BLR with superformance.

-10C - 2910fps
+20C - 3111fps

Thats a lot of temp sensitivity right? It didn't howver make a huge amount of difference on POI at 200 yards.

Anyone else have any feelings about superformance?

Yes that is huge imo. I stick to Retumbo, H1000, H4350 and H4381. Very stable. I always find it humerous when people talk about their high velocities with some powder (checked in +25C of course) and then loose 200fps or more in -10C when they are actually out hunting.

RL22 is a popular powder and I have used it in 257wby and 7mm rem mag. Gives great speeds in the summer but when I tested them in the winter I lost a significant amount of fps. So the "fast" powder isn't really fast when I'm out hunting and when it counts. I couldn't care less what I get fps/accuracy wise in the summer. In the cold hunting temps is what matters.

I don't meant to rant. I'm glad you tested and found out. I'm sure there is a powder that will work for you and give you more than 2900fps in the winter where it counts.

Cheers

I don't find temp sensitivity to be a big deal. I like to choose the most accurate powder and go with it. I always do my final zeroing and practicing just before an event at temps like I will encounter anyways (doesn't everyone?), so there are no surprises. At under 200 yds, 200 fps makes little difference anyways.

For the vast majority of powder burners, high temperature sensitivity is a bigger deal than cold weather sensitivity. Hot weather tends to increase pressure and given our general desire for maximum performance conceivably raises some liability concerns. Therefore, when powder manufacturers claim temperature stable products, they are for the most part talking about how their products behave in the heat. Hodgdon's Australian made Extreme Powder line is a good example of this, where St Mark's (General Dynamics) Hybrid powder line is the only one I'm aware of that takes the effect of sub zero temperature on pressure into consideration.
