Prophet River Firearms is top shelf as well, recently bought a Leupold scope from them and it was a fantastic price...they even through in some paper targets to get things sighted in. Fast shipping and very responsive via email and phone.

:agree::agree:

Clay is a great guy to deal with.

Communication phone/email = AAA

Price = AAA

Shipping price = AAA ( I believe the shipping I paid was less than the actual shipping cost shipping he paid)

Packaging = AAA ( I asked for a little extra packaging, which he gladly did at no charge, rifle arrived in tip top shape)

Except for the OP that slagged Marstar but hasn't allowed John to investigate the matter, this is a great thread.

I've had excellent dealings with the following retailers, on many orders ranging from a single flashlight to multiple firearms, ammo and optics:

Prophet River
Frontier Firearms
The Shooting Edge
ArmsEast
Ellwood Epps
Dave's Surplus
Marstar
Questar
Wolverine Supplies

I think I've noted all of them. Apologies if I missed someone.

Have had some communication difficulties with another couple of nameless dealers which were frustrating, and there is one that will never see so much as a wooden nickel from me. Can't win 'em all though, and crap simply happens and things just don't work out some times.

Target Sports Center A+
(by far my favourite dealer. local so I go there to shoot often and attend all the events. Dave, Dave and Carlos are by far some of the most knowledgable and curteous people to deal with.)

Canada Ammo A+
(3 seperate orders all completed quickly, great with communications and they have also helped me out on several occasions. cheers to mark and all the folk behind the scenes.)

Arms East A+
(ordered 2 SKS rifles from walt and received them very fast, quick shipping great coms. cheers to walt.)

Wolverine Supplies A+
(ordered a few misc parts and have had nothing but great experiences with them. fast shipping and great communication. cheers to John and everyone.)

Questar A+
(ordered a few misc parts also asked a few detailed questions, received great help every time. cheers to mark and the whole crew.)

So far I've had only positive experience with all the dealers and members on CGN. Big thanks goes to everyone who helps keep this site alive :D:sniper:

I love shopping at P&D... I like going in there even if I'm not buying anything. I actually get the impression the staff there like working there... they must all be making really great money or something :D I also find they like promoting the sport positively.

I can't stress that last point enough about another store: Phoenix range. Their prices on firearms are on par with any other place and the knowledgeable staff like to talk about their various products. Great service. Phoenix is big into IPSC, real sport promoter.

I've ordered a couple of times from Questar and been really impressed by how quickly and efficiently the order got to my door. Within 5 business days, to Alberta.

I've ordered a bunch from CZ Custom in the USA and that's been easy as well. They've also gotten back to me in a timely fashion with answers to questions before ordering. Takes about three weeks, through customs, etc. You can opt for the USPS Express mail, but that only shaves it down to 2 weeks and doesn't seem worth it for the inflated postal rate.

Well...some of 'em at least.

I just got in a shipment from the turkeys at Questar, no problems. First time I have ever dealt with them but I can tell right now these folks will do just fine. You get an 'A'.

Likewise, for mail order I have dealt in the past with the fellas at Wolverine and they were good too. An excellent source for the HK stuff in particular...and they get an 'A' too.

I am leaving this one out to the foolish firearm forum folk to decide: Marstar...I damn near ripped my hair out by the roots trying to deal with those people as I struggled to buy one of those chicom M14's. I gave up in disgust; three times they told me I was on the waiting list, and three times I got hosed! Now many of the other guys had great success with them but for me personally? I got treated like dirt and I am giving them an 'F'. Your mileage may vary and if so, I hope you got treated better than I did.

Next up is P&D. To me this is the benchmark standard in the business. The other guys out there may be as good, but they won't be better - because perfect is as good as it gets! Nobody can touch them for selection, nobody can touch them for service and they take this sport as seriously as we do! The only fault I could find with them (and this borders on nitpickery) is that they don't have much in the way of traditional black powder guns...but with that, they still come in with an A+!

It has been a pleasure dealing with most of these folks and I hope they are around for a long time to come.:D
I've purchased from Wolverine and Questar. I ws happy with m dealings. I take issue with you using derogitory terms to describe those companies that you have had good dealings with. Are you a s**tHEAD?? if so, F you!

I really like Wolverine and am more then due to find my next purchase with them.

For small stuff I'm more likely to buy off of Questar because of thier awsome website.

If I'm going to buy a rifle/handgun, I'll shop around but when I'm browsing Questar I just see things that I can use.

Both A+

I've ordered from :

Wolverine - several orders, several requests of for prices/availability/etc. Service is very good, delivery prompt, no issues.

Marstar - several orders. Good service, prompt delivery. Sometimes requests for information are a bit difficult to complete.

Questar - one order. Great service, prompt delivery.

Seals Action Gear - one order. Great service, prompt delivery.

Glock Parts.com - one order. Good service, prompt delivery.

Brownells - one order. Good service, prompt delivery.

Frontier - One order, in progress. Good so far.

Fabsports - One order. Good service, prompt delivery.

The Shooting Edge - No orders yet. Good service.

Socom Supply - no orders, several attempts to order. Trying to get any availability info or response to phone calls/emails is excruciating. I wouldn't try again.

I've bought a used rifle from Frontier and two M14s's from Marstar, both times by way of ordering over the phone. All went smoothly and professionally and they were shipped promptly. Also bought Bino's from Cameraland and would recommend them as well. Shipped fast, easy to place the order over the phone. Probably forgotten someone. Bought from Wolverine and they are great people who treat their customers with respect.

I don't mind making inquiries over email, but I prefer to call and speak to someone when it comes time to place an order.

I will start with my favorite. Alberta Tactical Rick and the guy's A AAA+++++ above and beyond every time.

Next Marstar, John, cause I'm in the midst of a deal with him now and he's taking a little bashing... John's comunications have been top shelf...easy to talk to and get ahold of. His staff has been decent to me on talking to them....as of yet no complaints and would recommend dealing with John and his people....Heck he even gave me his account number so I now have free shipping anywhere for life!! LOL just kidding John.

P&D..again A+++

One shot Tactical
AA+++

Daves Tactical AA+++

1337 Tactical AAA+++

Frontier Firearms
AA++

Wolverine Supplies AA+++

Alan Gunworks
AAA++

Wholesale sports.... work in progress.

Questar.....Mark set me up with my favorite Kimber .45 Ulta tactical...I love that pistol and the outstanding service from questar AAA+++ looking forward to more toys from questar in the future.

The key to good service is good communication by all parties....I have not been disapointed by any I have delt with in the firearms community......yep the odd sh*t happens hick ups but in the end all has worked out. So thanks to all I deal with for enhancing our hobby, without your efforts and work this site would have no use in our Liberal country.

This is a great thread.

My experience with wolverine,P&D,Questar, and lets not forget Josh at Stormwerkz(he goes out of his way to make sure you are ordering the right parts for your application) have been all A+. Zero complaints at all.

Wholesale sports is a customers worst nightmare,AA- (in Edmonton anyway) The guys behind the counter are pretty good if you have the time to wait a half an hour to talk with them or to purchase a small item. Easier to drive to P&D. Then you need more time to wait at the ONE cashier the have at the front to pay for it. I have a bad experience in there everytime so I refuse to go now. I'll pay more from anyone else rather than support their crappy service model..

Called Marstar twice,once to inquire about their norinco lever action shotgun,and once about a norinco 1911 wondering if they had any idea of when they expected more in and they were pretty short with me both times, Not even an offer to be put on a list. So I just gave up. Not much of an experience but it does tend to form ones opinion about a particular supplier when you get treated so good by others, you kind of get spoiled. I'm not B*t*ching about marstar, just relaying my experience with them.

arctic

ps: getting the 1911 on the EE this week!!Woot!

Best experience so far has to be with Wolverines A++. Second would be a tie between Ellwood eps, and Al Simmons( Hamilton).

Keep in mind it depends on who is serving you as well!

I tried Socom Supplies, but they were sold out, try to keep in mind that some of these stores are small, and overly busy.

It's not personal either, they can not always meet the ever changing demands of the firearm communities, or the unexpected busy periods that lower service quality.

I'm just wondering why you are calling the boys(and girls) at QI a bunch of turkeys. (In Canada that is considered a derogatory comment) Why would you do that?

I am f**kin pissed! What the f**kin f**kin f**kin f**k am i being f**ked over for. Usp, research how much of a disrespectful turd this f**k is. Do your job! I'm not the arshole in question!
