I made it to the range today and tried out my new SEI / Fisher M14-DC 7.62
sound suppressor ~ everything worked as expected on my MK14 SEI rifle.

I then installed the suppressor on my DC Vortex equipped
Norinco AKM and fired a few rounds of Golden Tiger off hand.
The rifle performed flawlessly and hits were touching each other @ 30 yards!

:D

that is a great day at the range, especially with that hardware. So US has no issues with suppressors, you guys are so lucky!! Is the AKM class 3?

All of my rifles are semi automatics, I don't know that I could afford to feed select fire weapons.
Suppressors are allowed in my state, but I did wait a few months for my tax stamp/background check.

It was well worth the wait

You make me feel like moving down to Vermont tomorrow, get a job flipping burgers or doing iron work to pay the rent until I find a job in my field...

...after 90 days I'll have my US drivers license, AK, M4 and M1A.

(Hopefully that'll give the wife enough time to pack the furniture and sell the house so we can take advantage of the low prices on houses right now!)

What is the cost of the supressors? I understand that the tax stamp is about $200 ea?

The tax stamp is $200.00, the FFL fee was $50.00 and this particular field rebuildable suppressor sells for $1100.00

It will work on 0.30 caliber and smaller caliber rifles as long as I have SEI's DC Vortex installed on the barrel.

Nice set-up, H2O Man!

I take it your suppressor can accommodate the .311 bullets as easily as the .308 ones?

Also, how effective is it at suppressing the 7.62x39mm and .308 Win?
Thanks!

I don't know about the .311s, but I can tell you that the suppressor works equally well with both the 7.62x39 and 7.62x51.

Ugh!! I'm going to harass my brother to get his tax stamp in Conn so I can shoot these cans once and for all!

Nice AK set up H2O.

Thanks!
Have your bro get his tax stamp ASAP - before PrezBO institutes a new weapons ban.

Thanks!

I'm actually referring to the three thousandths of an inch difference between a .311 - 7.62x39mm bullet, and a .308 - 7.62x51mm bullet.

I guess they are both working fine out of your suppressor though!:)

I was just curious what the tolerances are on it...

Cheers!

Understood.

There were no strikes on the end cap. The MK14 is extremely
accurate and I was impressed with how accurate the AKM was.

I thought suppressors were prohibited in Vermont... Something about "keeping them out of the hands of poachers", which is about as likely to work as keeping them from poaching, but anyway...

I could be wrong, but as far as I know, Vermont has some of the most lax gun laws in the US.
