Suppressed 7.62 Norinco AKM

I could be wrong, but as far as I know, Vermont has some of the most lax gun laws in the US.

I had a discussion a while ago about gun laws in Vermont, and that was pretty much the only bad part of their firearm legislation IIRC (relatively to the rest of the USA). I could very well be wrong, though.

(And I'll admit that I would consider moving there if they get medicare down south.)

Sorry to derail your thread, H2O..

Precisely why we don't want you here. (Nothing personal). Have you ever though that socialist ideas and programs go hand in hand? We own guns because we are independent and take care of ourselves. We also don't have socialized medicine because we are independent and take care of ourselves. It is no accident that the drive left to a socialist system in the whole world is walking hand in hand with the drive to eliminate the ability of the individual to do anything for themselves, up to and including the right to self defense.

And now, to bring this back on topic, the suppressor that H2OMAN has will also work on an AR that has the Vortex flash hider. One of the reasons that I am putting Vortex on everything I can so that when I can afford the suppressor I can use it on anything. Woohoo!

If you view Canadian-style universal medicare as an attraction, you must be badly misinformed.

If you are able to immigrate to the US, that means you have a job down there. And with this job, you probably have a way better healthcare plan than you would have ever seen in Canada.

You are correct sir! If the weapon has the correct SEI DC Vortex installed
and is .30 or smaller caliber - the 7.62 DC suppressor will fit and function.
Running .223 through the large .30 caliber can is supposed the be awesome.

It will work but it will be louder than a one that is built or designed for that cartridge .

I'm told it's actually quieter and has zero bullet drop out to 400 + yards.

The problem is that the gas escapes from around the bullet[ 5.56mm dia. can will have a 6 mm dia in the baffle as opposed to 7.62mm can having a 8mm dia.baffle] as it exits from the muzzle before the bullet does this were the sonic crack occurs . Like I said it will work but not as well.As for the claim zero drop out to 400 + yards I seriously doubt that it defies all known laws of physics it would require the bullet to be traveling in excess of 4500 fps that is something a the 223 Remington cartridge is current incapable of achieving

I don't know about that, but I do know this M4 was shot at 500 meters with SEI's .30 cal. suppressor
and there were no changes of bullet impact at that distance with or without the suppressor installed.

I think what he was trying to say is that the bullet drop is not affected by the suppressor, as in there is no greater bullet drop than without it. Which with a 30 cal suppressor firing .223 I could see, as there is a greater clearance with the smaller round.

generally most suppressors that use a indexed mounting system IE muzzle brake will not see any impact change .The units that see the a fair amount of impact change are those that are fastened directly on to the barrel of the rifle this is generally where is problem arises it has little to do with the Can but everything to do with the machining aspect of the barrel. I have seen some pretty pathetic attempts by some experienced gunsmiths that have mounted suppressors that were not square to the bore and this is the leading cause of impact shifts is the bullet striking the last baffle

Yes!

Yes.

I was concerned about the barrel threading on my AKM being both concentric and perpendicular to the bore.
I guess I got lucky with my Norinco because there have been no bullet strikes! :)

I did not have the same concern with any of my SEI built M14s, Ron Smith makes all of them sound suppressor capable.

I like the SEI,KAC and Ops Inc mounting systems in particular they give great low tolerance fitting which is essential in mounting a can on a rifle if you want zero impact change. I am not sold on the YH and SF mounting system something about using acme threads has me worriedthe worst barrels I have seen for bore being concentric to the outside dia is Remington

I honestly don't see why we can't have both. Canada is pretty split down the middle as far as socialism/capitalism goes. A happy middle would more adequately represent Canada as a whole, don't you think?

A bit slower, certainly, but it doesn't burn a giant hole through my wallet. I would rather not discuss my health problems in this thread, though.

If either of you would like to discuss this politely, feel free to send me a PM.

Again, sorry for the mini-hijack.
