A friend has a sxs Supreme ibargun he wants to know the value of. Any help is appreciated. Condition is very good.
I can send pictures upon request. Can't post from my cell.

What gauge is it, what are the length of the barrels, what are the chokes, single or double triggers, extractors or ejectors, is it splinter or beaver-tail forearm, pistol grip or straight English stock, original finish ? All of these, along with condition, effects value.

I honestly don't know what would happen to the used shotgun industry if it wasn't for this forum; every third post is some guy with no details about his shotgun wanting to get a quote - and then increase that quote by 20% and stick it on the EE.

Your shotgun - or your friend's - is worth something between a maverick 88 with a cut down barrel and an AYA 28 gauge round body. My answer mirrors the details offered in your question.

Give me a break upland guy. I'll try to get pictures up when I get a chance. I asked an honest question for a friend and obviously didn't provide enough information. I will do what I can to provide more information. Until then, if you don't have anything to contribute, just move on.

I'll take a stab at it though, I'd like to see how close I am before you get more information. I'll say it is a box lock with 30" barrels choked full and modified, pistol grip stock with extractors, splinter forearm, vented firing pins, side clips and automatic safety. Depending on condition, anywhere from $250.00 to $450.00 depending on condition/originality.
I''m curious to see how far off I am.

Your friend asks you to find a value. You couldn't be bothered to find out some relevant details before you made your post and now you're copping an attitude because complete strangers aren't falling all over themselves help you.

Here's a contribution for you. Come back with answers to the questions in threads 3 and 4 and some pictures and perhaps you might get a reasonable answer to your question. You're welcome.

With this brand it will also depend on the individual makers mark if there is one. Spanish doubles of this brand were not widely regarded as I recall.

Gunsandthepulpit: tell your friend to look for a makers mark on the underside of the gun (I think that is where they were put, could be wrong). Then if there is one google whose it is etc. Without a makers mark your friend's shotgun is likely worth low hundreds. There, I contributed.

I'll play along. I'll say it's a 12 gauge, boxlock, single selectable trigger, beavertail forend, Kersten lock, with barrels cut to 18", cyl and cyl, badly pitted bores, no visible finish, LOP 12", stock and forend crafted of select wood repurposed from an old Eibar sh-t house that was torn down after indoor plumbing was installed.

Value: 3 to 10 years behind bars for being a prohibited weapon.

Nawt even hump day and cabin fever izz still with us......................................Laugh2............olie cripes Cb...............java owt me snowt.

You forgot to add that is will soon be selling for $850 on the EE listed as a custom gun.

Your response however earns you a good star for being fing hilarious.

Here we go with another one?! Get some details and do some research. It's not that hard to do.

So, spare us the suspense and let us know what you found out.

I check this sub forum more often than I used to for the entertainment value of new guys getting pissed off at the regulars. :)

Guys, I think this has gotten way off topic.. Yes, I know people get annoyed seeing value threads where no information about the gun in question is given. Sometimes it is from ignorance and sometimes it is from newer members not knowing about certain guns and what to provide. Right or wrong this is a public forum and it happens and will continue to happen. I guess if the lack of information , or the reasons someone starts a value tread, bothers someone so much, then one shouldn't bother clicking onto such a thread where the heading is looking for a value. Problem solved. Also, the shooting/gun owning community is small, I see no sense in turning members away so they never post again.

Actually you were only lightly ribbed and asked for pictures/info so people could help you.. YOU on the other hand became foul.

Umm, no. Gunsaholic is not the OP and his feedback was quite helpful rather than foul. He respectfully asked the rest of us to not hastily rip a new one for posters asking what's it worth. Have to agree the harshness factor can quickly become higher than warranted. Not sure what the hell 'Looky said.

Uplandguy, you better read the thread again. You have it wrong. Gunsaholic is not the OP. Also, I have to agree with him. I was one of those guys asking some pretty basic questions just a couple of years ago and few guys on CGN were good enough to share their time and knowledge. I am now hooked on shotguns, especially SxS's. I still don't know much compared to others, but CGN is a fantastic place to learn. Cheers

Sage advice gunsaholic. The recent rash of "what's it worth?" threads has pushed us all a little squirrly. I've been guilty recently myself.

Nothing makes a guy feel sillier than realizing he's chirping at someone on the internets he's never met, but would probably get along with in real life.
