For years I had been running a 3-9 x 40 scope on a very, very accurate 22mag rifle. The scope was given to me by a hunting buddy, but it was painted over with camo krylon paint < (btw that is a mixture of various paints, it doesn't come in camo. At least, that's what the shy, gangly, crackly-voiced kid at Walmart told me)
I just assumed that it was an older weaver. Pretty clear view...but in 7 or 8 years, I NEVER had to re-zero. Maybe the most minor of adjustments to put me back on the X. The rifle grouped amazingly well with whatever ammo I used. By comparison, I have seen modern duty eotechs lose zero regularly.
So I get to doing work on my rifles..... cleaning, maint. etc. I scratch off one of the turret caps to find the word......
....wait for it.........AIM!!!!
In the words of the oft-quotable Jimbo Jones,
"Now I don't believe in nuttin no more."
