For years I had been running a 3-9 x 40 scope on a very, very accurate 22mag rifle. The scope was given to me by a hunting buddy, but it was painted over with camo krylon paint < (btw that is a mixture of various paints, it doesn't come in camo. At least, that's what the shy, gangly, crackly-voiced kid at Walmart told me)

I just assumed that it was an older weaver. Pretty clear view...but in 7 or 8 years, I NEVER had to re-zero. Maybe the most minor of adjustments to put me back on the X. The rifle grouped amazingly well with whatever ammo I used. By comparison, I have seen modern duty eotechs lose zero regularly.

So I get to doing work on my rifles..... cleaning, maint. etc. I scratch off one of the turret caps to find the word......
....wait for it.........AIM!!!!

In the words of the oft-quotable Jimbo Jones,
"Now I don't believe in nuttin no more."

I've got an "Optima" scope on one of my rifles.
No ideer 'bout nuth'in of it.
Big fine cross hair reticle and that's fine by me.
Make a click and POI moves.
Stuck it on my Marlin 336 32 win spec.
I figured it was a good a place as any for it.

I thought you just sprayed the Krylon on and it left a multicolor camo finish like on the can? Isn't that what "camo paint" means? Guess I'll just stick with me camo duct tape. 'Least its NASCAR approved 'n comes in camo. BTW your story is impossible. No way can the country that manufactures most sporting optics make a good scope. No way. If its Chinese its already broke. Communists got paid for that scope and they're gonna use that $23 to invade us. 99% of everything I own is made in China but if you support them you're wrong. It is shameful to buy Chinese stuff. Don't drink the kool-aid. I think I touched on all the main points of the usual anti-china hate speech trolls. Sometimes Chinese stuff just works. Its OK to save $200 every now and then :)

Lol. I feel a little silly because I was going to buy mounts for it and put it on my xcr.
By all accounts it has been an excellent smaller cal scope, but because now I know that its
'CHEAP' I don t want to use it.
It took 48 years and an inexpensive tube filled with polished glass to show me that I lve become a 'snob.'
