Suprising business idea

I see this more as a labour of love then a serious business because of parts availability.

Liability could be another issue especially because most all these types of firearms are old and in god knows what condition.

Most people into these old guns reload.

I did see an ad in an American magazine about someone doing this type of thing.

Good luck!

Musketfire you should just go for it. Lots of guys dream of starting a small business but never do it. Will take lots of startup capital and not many banks would be willing to back a firearms related business these days.

some small business are worth doing more than others with the insurance and license cost it would not work out too well

a better idea would be to get a lathe and some forming equipment and make odd ball cases

In all honesty I would LOVE to do this kind off thing....BUT mainly I was thinking of one of our sites sponsors that have the money and resources would see this thread and think about it.

Some of these companies wade through firearm importing laws from bloody China, that must take money.

I think there is a measure of profit to be made for a company that already has the legal and financial experience.

I have a antique repair gunsmithing and fabrication hobby business that is more of a labor of love but it makes a small profit. I can only imagine the insane red tape one would have to wade and battle through to start such a business, but the person/company that does it sets a precedent that would do ALOT for the Canadian shooting fraternity.

Smellies post was AMAZING, I never knew that so recently we were producing snider and martini ammo domestically, 1967/68 were crazy years for our land......Thats also the time when our currency went to 100% fiat "total unrelated subject though"

Imagine a group of us somehow restarting domestic production of ammo, and as far as arm condition is concerned couldn't there be a disclaimer on the packaging stating that the ammunition is intended for use with arms in firing condition and the producer is not liable if the purchaser slaps a cartridge in a snider that was buried in the yard for 40 years.
