sure shot .22

Picked up a sure shot .22 the other day. Bolt action tube fed. The only thing it says on it is SURE SHOT .22 S L LR. Now i knowwhat all that is. But there is no serial or anything and what i would like to know is a general years of manufacture when that would have been the only thing stamped. Thanks very much!

It was the Sears brand of Cooey rifle. Made in Canada. I had the single-shot version back around 1967. It cost about $16 and yours was another $10.

It could be anywhere from roughly 1942 to the 70's as they were stamped Sure Shot for Sears throughout those years. Not a whole lot changed on them through those years except maybe they got cheaper after Winchester took over. With no serial number though it is before 1968.

For also got to mention that if it has phillips head screws it will be from roughly after 1956. If flat head screws it will be from before that time.

Great little rifles. I have a cooey model 60 and the sure shot both with tube fed magazines. Quite accurate.

I have the single shot version that I picked up last year for 65$ it's way more accurate than anticipated!
