Surefire Picatinny forends

The lady on the phone is top notch, truly a pleasure to deal with. I think I paid ~$80 for mine with rail covers and I had it in a week. It's all one-piece machined and fits my 500 like a glove. I owned a surefire picatinny front on an other shotty, and I do not see a quality difference between the two, in fact the ERGO fit very tight onto the action tube, while my surefire needed the tube nut to be tightened right up for a secure fit. This could be a small size difference between the mossberg 500 and remmy 870 action tubes though, I've heard of a couple 870 owners having to loctite or put a small piece of scope tape in the tube for a tight fit. The price and availability make it an easy decision if I ever need to outfit another gun. I'd highly recommend them.

The ergo rail is just junk, i have one that i borrowed from a friend.
I cant see why anyone would buysomthing made that bad!!!!
We have some railed forends that are in pre production right now that well be as good if not better then the surefire railed for end

X2^^ I have a Ergo railed fore end and I am not happy in the least. Perhaps I got a bad one. However, if what I have is their standard production, I will pass. I havent tried or heard reviews on the surefire so I can not comment on it.
 
ERGO fore end here. I have just over 500+ rounds both slug and shot and no problems (if you want to call the addition to the locking ring a little problem).The fit and finish on my sample are excellent. No rattling or side play (once the lock nut was tightened properly).Their customer service was top notch and delivery from the US quick.

I'm curious as to what you guys define as problems? Fit, finish or manufacturing quality?

I haven't seen the M69 in person, so I can't make a direct comparison.
 
I've had both and I find the ERGO better overall. Now the fact that mine fits my 500 like a glove, and others like a jello mold could have something to do with their variance in production. I could have just lucked out. Or perhaps its the fit between models (mossy 500 vs remmy 870). What guns do you guys have them on that it's a bad fit?

Unfortunately I no longer have my 870 with surefire front, so I can't physically swap the two and compare fits against models. All I can base my experience on is the fact that the surefire fits on the 870 perfectly while on my 500 the tube nut needed to be tightened totally. The ergo fits on the 500 like the surefire fit on my 870, and with that in common the difference to me is only price. Maybe I'll borrow my buddies 870 this week and do fit swap to see how it seats.

I've put about 300+ rnds of everything from target load to slug/000 through my 500 since I installed the grip, and I've had zero problems. I'm quite happy with the purchase and would give them a second shot on a future purchase.

Mine is on an 870. I had trouble tightening it up enough to stop the rattling and sideway motion between the forend and the actionbar/tube combo.

It didnt help that I mounted it on a Dlask barrel. I had to remove significant amounts of metal to enable it to cycle. It didnt weaken the structural integrity, but I didnt like having to modify it.

I also found the alloy that it is made of to be too soft. Would have prefered a harder alloy as it dents and mushrooms too easily.
 
If I had've had an Ergo to try before, I probably would not have bought mine. Then again, I'm a bit of a kitslut. If I had to list my dislikes, it would be something like this: The ERGO seems too short for the forend tube, and rolls a bit much for my liking. When I buy an accessory, I want it to be as good as or better than the part I'm replacing. I really don't like how it leaves the forend tube nut exposed or how the tang at the back is too narrow to fit tightly between the action bars. It just feels cheap. Maybe I'm used to my Speedfeed and Surefire (weaponlight) forends which fit solidly. Maybe that's an unfair comparison, but the cash I paid for it would almost get me a Surefire M69.
