So it looks like the girlfriend is getting me a surefire x300 ultra for Christmas (she ordered it from wolverine but used my account so I got the email comfirmation haha!) for my tavor.

I know these are pretty good lights but I've heard there is issues mounting them on picitinny rails? This is my first rifle light and admittedly I don't know much bout them.

Was thinking of mounting it at 12 o'clock and using my thumb to activate the light, but if that doesn't work do they sell tape switches for these?

Haha just do much I don't know so I'm asking you guys what do you think? Should I keep the light or potentially change the order for a more optimal set up?

First off.
I have no clue about the surefire and i'd love one...
Second, i envy you! I've been working on my wife for 2 years to buy me a surprise that supports my hobby!
Instead i get concert tickets for my favourite band... Blah! Useless!!

I run two of them. I've juggled them around my plastic pic rails for magpul shotgun sga, aluminum rails on my AR15 and the pic rail on my glock 22. Hundreds. Of rounds on each (except for shotgun) and never an issue.

People #####ing about not fitting rail are too lazy to switch the mount for the picitnny mount that comes with it. It comes with a universal and pic mount, takes like 5 min to change.

It will be fine and you will love it, I have both a x300 and x300U
