Wow, that's a lot of Bling Bling for a single shot .22, but whatever floats your boat.....but do you realise that you have invested three times what the gun is worth in re-finishing/blinging it? It is nice to have a family heirloom handed down....would your great grandpap have approved of the re-working though? You did a real nice job on the stock though all joking put aside. It look good!

I am sure the cost of refinishing that old gun was more than three times what it was worth. Would grandpa approve? Probably not but the plating could easily be removed and the pieces reblued but then my boat would sink.

Who cares what it costed him, it's a .22 and they are there for a hobby and we all know hobbies ain't cheap. Looks good and have fun with it

Besides, what about all those guys that spent $1500 tarting up a 1022? IMO THATS excessive. A little blingy for me but it beats rusting away in a closet. Good on ya. Now get out there and feed the old girl. Besides-when did somebody slip in this common sense thing? What has that to do with any of this anyways?

Thanks for all the comments guys. I know it is not for everyone, some will love it and others will hate it.
I have two sons, one will be 5 next week and the other is 2 1/2 they both have showed a lot of interest in this rifle and were excited when I brought all those shiny pieces home and put her together. They know it is a special rifle and it will be theirs one day.

For those of you that are curious the cost to reblue the barrel and polish the bolt was $200.00 The gold plated trigger was $10.00 and everything else was nickel plated for $90.00

WOW! That's a lot o' cash.....glad you are happy with the finished product though, that is truly all that matters. The fact that your kids are interested in it makes that a small price if you look at it that way......get them out shooting!
