Surgeon 1086 long action

Surgeon has up to a 10 month wait to even place an order at the moment. I recommend either looking on US sites and getting one imported through irunguns or going for a different brand of action. My friend was able to find a used surgeon 591 in the US with 60 rounds through it and have it imported. Was about the price of a new one when all was said and done though!

Surgeon is now back ordered over a year and refuses to even take any more orders at all.

Super fun when that's the only action you want , or will even consider

Surgeon is not that interesting. Did you manipulate the bolt on a 591? Loose as #$##. Even a rem 700 is tighter.

Defiance,BAT,Badger m2013 are better options

We have ordered three 1581xl 2 year ago and now it look like we will never get them. I dont think we will order from surgeon anymore.

My Surgeon is like butter and not one of my Remingtons can hold a candle to bolt fit, smoothness or binding.. That being said the other actions are very nice as well....Stiller is also worth considering for much less $$

Have you considered McMillan's actions? The G30 push feed. I think that companies like Gunwerks use them as do others. Pretty tough and robust.
