Surplus .303 ammo out there?

There is surplus out there, P&S Militaria has them on for $25.00 per box of 48. The only problem is he is in Quebec and refuses to ship. So since your in BC (like me) your S**T outta luck. Surplus does surface on the EE, but it usually goes for $1.00 a round, and since its surplus most of its Berden primed so its not worth it. If surplus does come up on the EE for a decent price, It goes in less time then it takes to load the page. Gun shows are your best bet, if not ammo, you will find reloading components.

If your REALLY desperate, you could go for a swim off the east and west coasts. The Military dumped hundreds of tons of ammo into the oceans in the 1960's. I imagine some of its still good since the containers are sealed, well I would like to think so.

Give me some GPS coordinates; and i'll organize a team of frogmen. :)

How about non surplus?

I just picked up a pretty little bubba, and I was looking for some non-corrosive hunting and plinking ammo. It seems like even the big stores carry a pretty limited supply of the brit. Any Canadian Dealers who tend to stock more .303 or Enfield gear than the rest?

FWIW, I would like to find a couple of more 5 round mags too. I'll check the Calgary gun show this weekend, but any other suggestions?

:)

When it comes to .303brit factory, I found its more expensive then other cals such as 30-06. If you look around you might be able to find some. As you said, check the gun shows, you never know. As for the mags, Watch out. A lot of the mags out there are factory rejects. They look and feel good, but they don't feed. So watch out.

Good to know,

Is the mag problem something that can be tweaked, or is there a physical flaw that I could spot.

Reload for less that a $1 per round or buy new ammo for around $.95 per roundish.

Perhaps we all should do a bulk buy from S&B?

It's not MARSTAR that has a problem bringing in the ammo, it's our stupid government red tape, bureaucracy and BS.

You have to have a war on in your own country to get ammo brought in.

I'll start something with the Alaskans this weekend. That should give us some support for the "war effort". ;)

And I don't plan to reload just yet, as this one is meant to be an occasional hunter and plinker. The grand in gear to get started reloading would take many years to pay off at my expected consumption rates.

I would be in for a bulk buy though. It would be nice to start out with 500-1000 rounds, and that would likely do me fine for several years.
