Surplus .303 ammo out there?

With cast bullets, I can reload very accurate .303 ammo for under .20 cents a round, it is very accurate ammo, perfect for paper punching and much easier on the barrel then the "unknown surplus".

I do get a laugh out of folks who buy spare mags for their enfields. This is NOT a SLR or a M16. The mag was only to be removed for cleaning.
Just be careful in tweaking the feed lips, a small adjustment goes a long way.
Usualy the problem surfaces on the Last round not feeding, so only adjust on that side.

There is surplus out there, P&S Militaria has them on for $25.00 per box of 48. The only problem is he is in Quebec and refuses to ship. So since your in BC (like me) your S**T outta luck. Surplus does surface on the EE, but it usually goes for $1.00 a round, and since its surplus most of its Berden primed so its not worth it. If surplus does come up on the EE for a decent price, It goes in less time then it takes to load the page. Gun shows are your best bet, if not ammo, you will find reloading components.

If your REALLY desperate, you could go for a swim off the east and west coasts. The Military dumped hundreds of tons of ammo into the oceans in the 1960's. I imagine some of its still good since the containers are sealed, well I would like to think so.

Can't find their address on the web site.Anybody know were they are located?I,m heading east in august might have to make a pit stop:D

I got a nice bubba with a scope. No stripper clips need apply here. ;)

And I was raised shooting Enfields for years in Cadets. I'm more than comfortable swapping and tuning mags.

.303

I use my Mark III's for hunting everything from gophers to whitetail...never had a problem switching or feeding from any mag I threw in em.

Repeat after me: "older-rifle surplus (most often) means corrosive"...:(

When you get home from the range after using of corrosive ammo in your rifle, simply run hot water through the barrel of your rifle (use a funnel in the action) then clean your rifle as normal and all will be OK. :)

I reload .303 for about .50 cents a round, brass not included as I have hundreds of once fired stuff, and that cost includes the Sierra match kings I'm using. If you spread the brass out over multiple firings, the cost goes way down.

the only surplus ive bought is an old box of 20 i got for $25 more jsut to collect not shoot....im going to start handloading it soon to lower cost....

yeah were can I get some? I want to shoot my enfeilds, but 20 dollars a box is too much for hunting ammo. I see it in the states cheap.

Expect to pay $1/rd for commercial ammo, anywhere, even Wallyworld. Reloads will cost about $.50/rd to build.

Don't forget to sight-in with the same ammo you are going to hunt with

Facts of life.
