Surplus .303 ammo

I posted asking about this in the Ammo forum but it occurs to me there might be more expertise here.

I have a large box of loose surplus .303. The headstamps appear to be R /l\ L 1945 (a few are 1946) and what looks like a 7 opposite the R/l\L symbol. Can anyone give me any info on this? Would it be Royal Laboratory in the UK? possible value?

So, any suggestions on value? I've read 50 cents and I've read $1.00+ per round.
