lol, ok, so heres my dilema, i bought 8 packs of 40 rounds each to play with my DA P762, so at the range, i took a stripper clip out, loaded up my mag, cocked the slide, then click, ugh, wait, eject the round , try again, click, grrrrrrrrr, wait, eject the round, 3rd times a charm, KABOOM! head shot on the target at 20 yards, woo hoo, the case ejected, and landed in the open pistol case on the counter beside me, cleared the pistol as something didnt look right,

following picture is that brass...

so waited a bit, shot some of my other pistols, then figured id try the 762 again, , same thing, tried a different clip out of the box, 4 misfires in a row, scrapped that box, opened a different one, and no problems at all for the entire 40 rounds, so 3rd pack, started off with 2 misfires in a row, so i shut it down, packed up and went home to clean and clean and clean, gotta love corrosive..ugh, heres a pic of the pack of ammo,

question, is there other types of this out there?all ive seen is the Czech stuff, anyone know where to find something different?, or did i just get one of the packs that was made late on a friday afternoon or monday morning kinda deal?

more of a rant i guess, induced by to much pistol cleaning tonight i guess, and maybe a couple of "pops"
ahwell, time to rip another one apart and clean some more

That DA gun is known to not like surplus ammo. Firing pin is too short, and surplus primers too hard.
Your best bet is new production, either Seller & Bellot in nice reloadable brass cases, (at 27$ for 50) or the norinco copper wash stuff at 16$ for 50.
Edit: just checked the CanAm site, they have PRVI at 31$ a box, and the norc is 18.

I have the same gun..P762 and all I shoot is surplus crap as I'm cheap.
The ammo that I have a problem with is the coated stuff..DON'T use that stuff..it will jam up your gun when it gets hot and you will have to stick a cleaning rod down the barrel to free up the empty casing..
the stuff that I have no issues with is from Marstar ...half crate gone not one jam or other issues ...
Hope that helps
Glenn.

gonna have to go check CanAm and Marstar and get some different stuff on the way, i love shooting my pistols to much to leave one home all alone while the other get to play..lol

As said Canam and marstar have x25. Tradex has surplus Russian x25, Reliable gun as well. Wanstalls had Czech surplus buy the crate but that's probably the same stuff you have. I've tried the Russian surplus in my TT33 without any misfires, but that's a different gun altogether.

Least informed opinion here, but based on the comments in the General forum how old is the ammo? One commenter (The Outsider) noted how ammo can become age soldered to the case which can cause a pressure spike (phrasing to Gandalf)

Otherwise, it's clear that you are squeezing the gun too tight and are breaking things.
