Hey guys!!!
I am looking to start to stack some ammo for my Stag 10 for the summer/winter...ideally wanting to get quite a few rounds (2,000+) while I still can/it is "easily" available.
***I MIGHT get into reloading down the road...or stick to just later selling my once fired brass like I have for years...so brass quality/primer type is NOT a very high priority for me.***
I am looking at either getting either the Hirtenberger surplus stuff or the "Federal Lake City" M80 ball stuff...both are close enough to the same price per 500 for me not to worry about a few bucks here or there.
I have heard a lot of good about the Chinese surplus (but no brass/re-loadable cases) but it all but seems to be "gone"? I have seen some on the EE but mostly out west and they are wanting local sales only or shipping will be wayyy too much $$$ or the odd guy wanting $2/shot for his "rare" ammo.
I am looking for good, reliable, safe ammo...constant enough for practical use from 50-500 yards, but mostly 50-300 yards. I shoot mostly irons or use a 1-6x scope so I don't need (or want to pay for) match grade ammo and I shoot targets between 12"-18" in diameter.
---
Any PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with either or? Not internet hearsay or a word from a friend of a friend?
My only hesitations on Hirtenberger is seeing some of the cases have corrosion or old cardboard bos stuck to them...I don't want it to get "worse" overtime or imped on function and safety of the ammo.
And with the Federal stuff, it is hard to find NOT in 500 round count boxes so testing it out before hand seems more difficult.
Thanks!!!

***EDIT*** I really wanted to make this a poll, zerooo idea how to tho?!
