Surplus 8mm Mauser? Anyone know where in canada?

hello

im new to this website anyways recently ive bought a 98k mauser and i am looking for surplus ammo 7.92 or 8mm for her anyone know where in canada i can find good price good surplus ammo? :confused: and yea stores in vancouver sell 8mm mauser for 41$/20Rd

None in any quantity. You might find a bit here and there at gun shows.

As you might be unfamiliar with the process, it can take 1 to 2+ years for a company to bring in surplus ammo. All ammo must first be tested and approved by NRCAN (Natural Resources Canada, Explosives Division)

ohhh wow well i was looking for some1 that has 8mm in stock lol but thanks anyways do you know if the person acctualy brought the 8mm mausers?

It has only been one year so far. :eek: ;) Late this year or next year is what I would expect.


BTW, you don't see small quantities of surplus being brought into Canada because the costs for approvals (often several thousand $$), import permits, etc, is the same for 1,000 rounds or 1 million rounds. At the same time, the person has to buy that surplus ammo and sit on it for 2 years waiting for approvals before they can bring it into the country and sell it.

A dealer, not an individual. Marstar is the major importer for surplus in Canada and a also a large supplier for surplus into the US.

Just follow the threads I posted above, you will know when it arrives. Usually they can't even give a good time estimate because most of the process is out of their control. :D
 
SFRC used to have a pre-order for fmj 8mm. I would fire the chemist a PM (or post an inquiry in the dealer's forums for SFRC TheAmmoSource.

I don't see it listed anymore but, they are great to deal with and, answer questions quickly.

...no, I don't work there. I just get spoiled like anyone who shops there!
 
i guess i'm not most people - i've got a dillon 550 that i use exclusively for 308- have done that since 93- when you've got 20 round mags to fill and 4 rifles to feed, that single stage is AWFULLY SLOW- even when i was beginning, i used 2 single stages with a powder measure in between- then i graduated to a turret
 
glad i have 3000 rds on hand as they are hard to get and the 8mm brass they sell on here is made of gold as the price of once reloaded brass is way too high.
 
It's out there, but disappearing fast.

I have several hundred brass cased, berdan-primed (possibly corrosive) FMJ that I have offered to "WTB" ads on several occasions and no-one wanted to pay more than $0.50/round SHIPPED (too low), or wanted only 100 rounds (not worth the effort), so I gave up responding.
