Czech and then Portugese. The Portugese is the gold standard for 8mm.
I'd buy the port in a flash

The Czech ammo is on one end of the spectrum, the Portuguese is on the other. Not for casual pi$$ing away.

AFAIK, black would indicate AP from FNM.

I haven't looked at this stuff in years but I'm pretty sure it's red. And it's definitely been tracer when I've shot it in the past.

Depends on the year.

The Portugese stuff that I have is kept beside my pillow. The Czech ammo is stashed. Expect some duds. Any duds I have get the bullets pulled and weighed, the powder dumped out and measured, recorded and kept for future use. I have some '53 Czech that seems a bit cleaner on the outside. Can't recall if I've had many or any duds with it.

8x57 is one of my favourite cartridges. About three years ago, I took some Czech on trade. It was clean, then I bought a bunch more at auction that came from the same guy.

I had some FNM 5.56 a few years ago and it shot well for milsurp.
