Surplus 9mm Ammo?

I used to relaod and shoot a lot more, now I have a LOT less time to do either :( haven't reloaded in months actually! and with ammo/component prices going up so much since the last time I got my supplies I can't afford to be shooting as much as I did before anyways....

Rather than reload (enormous waste of time unless you are retired), buy a pistol/rifle .22lr conversion kit. They're available for SIG, Glock and ARs. Others I am not too sure. There's a coupon at Canadian Tire right now for $10 off (last flyer) so it seems they're giving away 100 rounds free! (until March 14th I think).

Update: whelp after all the BS from Combat Masters I went to go talk to my local guy small business owner his names Dale @ The Sportsmens Den. Anyway turns out my local guy hooked me up, I got 1000 Rounds, 20 Boxes of American Eagle (Federal) 124 gr. FMJ's .. (BTW the product is current this years stuff) for $285... So I figured I did ok $ 300 Tax In about 15 bucks a box.... And atleast its decent product...

Yup thats a bargin.... I have about 500 rnds of factory stuff (Jacketed Round Nose) just sittin on my shelf, waiting for warm weather.

Unfortunatly I can't seem to find Lead round nose practice ammo with any kind of frequency (that is all I am allowed to shoot at my indoor clubs, & it has to be under 1000fps) so I have to make my own.

I usually spend about an hour an evening (except mondays & tuesdays.... and saturdays... I shoot those days) loading ammo.

Needless to say I shoot alot of .22 lol!!

It costs me $150-160/k to load a thousand 9mm using high end components.

At $140/k in savings over factory or commercial reloads, I'll have paid back the cost of my 1050 and other tooling in just over 14 cases. Worst case scenario, it might take me three years.

How long do you intend to shoot??

The Combat Masters issues are too bad guys. I've always had good dealings with him. I'm waiting for 3000 .40 and 1000 9mm right now, and his emails have been 'timely' and professional. Still, it's too bad you were not satisfied.

And as far as reloading goes, I can buy .40 major from CBM for near the price of reloading it myself....based on the price of components....and the fact I can't fidn time to reload.

I definatly see your point, almost half the cost... Maby one day but for now my time is worth more than that to make 1000 rounds. Plus I got my hands ful right now with rolling my own .50 BMG rounds. Thanks for the info though Im sure I'll find the time one day, but for now atleast the ammo I have to buy is cheap...(unlike the 50 cal. rounds)

My experience with Combatmasters was subpar as well. I phoned and asked if they did special order type stuff. What I wanted was 5000 rounds of JHP 124gr 9mm. He preceded to accuse me of being some gang banger or something and said he refused to load jhp's because only Gangbangers want that kind of ammo. I tried to explain to him that I wanted them for my Non Restricted CX4 storm rifle for gophers this summer. He wouldn't have any of it. Needless to say he won't be getting of my business in the near future for his short sightedness and arrogance.
