I'm curious to know what folks have paid to have their barrels trimmed down to 106mm. I passed on a Canadian legal shorty on the EE a month or so ago and my poor decision continues to haunt me... :(

Does anyone have one with a threaded barrel? Are they Canadian (restricted) compliant? It just seems to me that the whole point of owning a little pistol is owning a little pistol - not a little pistol with a 6" barrel.

While I do wish we could have both barrels without being "Grandfathered", the fact is the 6 inch barrel is original and not an afterthought.
I considered cutting it down but after shooting and handling it for a while....... it "grew" on me!
Good balance and longer sight picture.

It shouldn't be too much, biggest challenge is soldering on a new front sight.
Beyond the fact that the longer barrel "grew" on me with time, the fact that a 106mm barrel still looks wrong on the gun compared to the original shorter length stopped me from cutting the barrel. I had planned on getting one of S&j's as an extra but that didn't work out.

A slip on fake suppressor with a front sight or a different gun is the best bet if the look doesn't work for you. The reliability and accuracy is enough for me to look past the stupidity of our pistol barrel length rules.

I figured I would cut mine down too but it's a good target shooter at the longer length. I got used to it and no longer want to cut it down. It wouldn't be overly hard to chop a few inches off, re crown the end and tig weld the front sight back on I suppose... But I don't have the tools and a gunsmith would probably charge $100+ for that.

If one of the sponsors had the shorter barrels for sale for sub $90 I would buy one and have the best of both worlds. I wouldn't let the long barrel turn you off of purchasing the pistol though.

Mine (wife's) was done by a gunsmith that has since retired. He did it for me 15 years ago and charged me then $100. It's now 107mm and it looks good as it is only a bit over the factory intended 98mm. It shoots like you would expect a mouse gun to shoot. Accurate as such a small gun with such a short sight radius would be. In all honesty if I want to shoot something more accurate I just grab something else out of the safe. With the 5" barrel it would of course shoot much better but it defeats the intent of the series 70 IMHO. One thing of note. In all my 37 years of shooting I have not seen a more reliable 22 pistol. Probably have 20k rounds through it so far and it just wont die.

True enough... I don't have enough pistols to grab something more accurate though lol.

I think bottom line is OP you should get one its a good pistol.

Could we see a few pictures of it? Thanks

These pistols were kind of rare and mostly prohibs until a few years ago..... they are available now but unlikely to be available from retailers in a few years.
Seems like many still think the long barrels are an abomination for the Canadian market but they were stock and came with a second shorter barrel..... the real abomination is that most of us can't have the second barrel that came with these guns originally.
