Surplus browning Hi Powers? (Non-Inglis)

The India high power parts don't interchange with other high power parts to well is what I was told. They never made
a deal with FN to do it or the FAL, which supposed to have some of the same issues.
Israel sold a large amount of surplus high powers. I looked at the various lots, no inglis hp in any amount. But the
big issue was a lot of them need various parts. After doing the study, shipping, you couldn't get the parts surplus, after taking
parts off guns to complete others, it wouldn't work. The US market pays more and the C $ / US $ had an effect even
at the small percentage. The US buyers have the parts guns in storage or they are in parts bins.
They were mostly various contract fn high powers that Israel got for the police etc

Does the canadian army still use the high power ? If they end up switching to something newer will they get sold as surplus or "destroyed" ?

We still have them, regular soldiers use them. Qualify every year on ones that have never left the range and get shot non stop. Beat to crap but still function and hit paper.

I actually own a Norinco clone of the Browning BDA. It's called an SP88. Not a bad gun! Looks almost like a BHP, but the lines are slightly different.

They will get melted down into manhole covers. The Canadian forces has a policy of either giving military firearms to other countries or destroying them. Some vehicles and other equipment can be sold off at auction like old fire trucks, generators, heaters, the ILTIS jeep, but not firearms. Unfortunately. I like to daydream about the Browning Hi-power getting sold off as surplus and seeing them for $300.
