Anyone else grab one of the surplus Diemaco C8 uppers from SFRC? Mine arrived today and i cant wait to try it out!

Maybe i should be posting this in the milsurp section now? :D

sadly i dont have a Diemaco lower to put it on :(

I received my C8 upper today as well
Mine has had quite a bit of use from the looks of the metal
Took one look at it and started having course flashbacks
Should be a hoot to shoot though
Very glad I bought it
 
For the love of God get it off that lower! Nordic had CC lowers for $180 the other day. Looks like they sold out though.

Upper actually looks pretty nice and from the pic it looks like you got the large round FA. Hard to find those. Mine is fairly beat up but I like the look. Swapped out the FA for a large one that I scoured the country for.

Were they surplus lowers?
 
Yeah mines pretty rough, might want to pull the handguard/do a full inspection.

Edit 2: Spoke to the sales team at SFRC seems like this is an anomaly and have done their part to help me out, the other two that my friends have are in much better condition.

No, they're parting out SA20 and 15.7 rifles.

I do believe that all of these C8s originated from the CAF and are therefore prohibited.

Surplus semi lowers would be awesome though. I do believe that there is at least one in the country.

It’s the only lower I have at the moment lol

What does “large round FA” mean?
 
Took my C8 upper out to the range on Sunday
Also in company were my Armalite 11.5" , and Sig P320
Firing the C8 upper was hillarious
Super light and fast handling
Really enjoyed using the fixed irons too
Boneyard Bill din't stand a chance
Definately worth buying
Also got my money's worth out of bug juice, the mosquitoes were terrible even in pouring rain

Mine came in on Friday,I like the "character" on it just wish I could have found a CC lower to put it on. So I'll have to make do with my Dlask FUJ on this blaster.

Mr. rotten is correct. I was referring to the large round forward assist. They're fairly hard to find these days but were originally on early A2 and C7/8 rifles. Replaced by the smaller diameter one that is common place today.
 
SFRC normally carries them for $550 on sale, but about a week and a half ago, they dropped the price on their remaining 20 to $400. They sold out in less than an hour after the email went out. :-(
