Surplus Irish Body Armour?

Also, do you cut the "wings" off the soft armour in the back and that's what you stuff in the side pockets?

The Irish are wee people, closely related to leprechauns. Even the large is just to allow for beer bellys. (relax, I've got a family of Irish blood around me.;))

Only the 'wee people' are 'wee'.

My late dad was 6' 2" and I'm just under 6'. And BTW, people in Northern Ireland are British subjects. 'Irish' when used in Northern Ireland, usually denotes the citizens of the Republic of Ireland.

Neither of us had or has a beer belly either.

...and BTW, one of those 300+ police officers was killed beside me as we walked down the street. I tried to keep him alive long enough to get to the RVH, where his new baby girl had been born the previous day, but I ran out of fingers to put in the holes in his chest. A magazine-load from an Armalite at 15 yards takes some stopping, even with body armour.:(

All the Irish boys in my family are 6' + . Just a tease, not to be taken seriously. As for your friend, I hope the pain you and his family carries fades one day, though his memory never will.

No, the whole thing slides in as one piece in the front and one in the back. The plates were glued to the soft armour and I didn't see any reason to mess around with them. Let us know how it works out.:)

My side pockets are separate pockets, so it looks like I'll have to cut those wings off and cut them to size. I have the Condor MOPC.

Contemplating cutting my vest apart. Do you guys think its possible to sew the plates back into the original vest with the soft armour ones you remove it the first time?

So the surplus German helmet came in, scratches ect obviously surplus, but the only writing on it is "press" in english on the release for the retaining gear. It appears to actually be a pasgt type helmet with a good webbing/pad system inside with buffers to dampen blunt/impact trauma. So yeah, aside from not being german, and having no NIJ markings/labels whatsoever it does appear to be a lvl 2 helmet.

Yes, if you make a clean incision at the bottom of the vest (front and back) the plates will slide right out. Sewing it up wouldn't be that hard.
