Surplus Irish Body Armour?

I'm looking for soft armour. I am tall and slim 6'0 140 pounds. What size do you guys think I should get?

And frontier, can you guys get a vest that can fit me?

I'd say a small might be best as I'm in also 6 foot but have about 57 pounds on you. A medium fits me just fine with a bit of room for adjustment. These vests adjust quite a bit, so I hope this helps.

i think i'd be a medieum too i'm 5,4 165 was hoping for a lvl 2 stab proof , or bullet proof i'd wear under my uniform for security , i know i wouldn't trust my life but i think its better than nothing. what do you recommend ?

i cut the plates out of my vest and i couldnt help but notice that the back plate is lighter and appears to not be a ceramic plate. it looks like some kind of laminate material? does anyone no what level of protection it offers?

Mine worked out amazing! I'm 6"1" 210 LBS Medium vest, pull seam out of bottom, soft and hard armour are glued together and they fit perfectly inside a large blackhawk carrier with the 3D mesh inside. :D

Sorry Frontier, another question since I have 2 sets of these already - would you be willing to try to "parts" a few of these vests, as in, sell just the panels or plates individually? I have a IIIA concealable vest with a plate compartment and just need a set of plates.

I'm sure lots of folks would be willing to take either just the kevlar or plates, given that they fit pretty well perfectly in a carrier a lot of the aftermarket carriers out there.

I put mine in here:

and someone put one in here:

Likewise, I'm sure there's a few curious George's out there who want to try to shoot at one of the panels/plates to test them out.

Personally, I think it would be reasonable to pay $150-$175 individually for a pair of plates or for a pair of kevlar panels for a total of $300-350. The return for you for, say, a poor quality vest you'd sell for $200-$220 and the labour to tear them apart, might make it worth your while (it takes about 1 hour or so to disassemble a vest).
