Hello fellow CGNrs. I always like asking you all for real world advice. I was unable to locate a thread regarding this topic. I recently saw the Jericho 941F, CZ 75, CZ 75B and the Tanfoglio "Mossad" pistols for sale on numerous sponsor's websites. The prices range from 469.00 for the black Jericho 941F to 749.00 for the Tanfoglio and the other are somewhere in between. The description indicates that they are all from the Israeli Police.

It appears that all these guns are based off the CZ 75 design. Just wondering if you had a choice which one you would get and why? If any of you have purchased any of these surplus models I would be very interested to hear what you have to say.

Thank in advance.

Best if you can view and sort through a few, condition varies alot for all these.
The Jericho would be my first pick, followed by the 75B's.

I agree with Hitzy, ideally it would be nice to see good pictures or handle one in person, I picked up a very nice chromed Jericho on the EE and in the pictures the seller posted I could clearly see the condition.

I was looking for one with nice crisp engravings as some seem quite faint. As far as the mechanical condition I think they are all good to go.

I have one of the surplus single action jerichos. Its a fantastic gun. I sold my glock and kept the jericho

Thats the one I am leaning towards.

Thanks for your assistance. I totally agree that handling them in person and "cherry picking" a nicer one is the way to go. Both Tenda and G4C have them in stock and are only about an hour drive from my place. I would like to get one with a nice engraving if possible.

I picked up one of the chromed SAO Jerichos. It has a few miles, but is still a very good shooter. I don't have info on the others though...

Thanks Phat Eagle its good to know that its a very good shooter. Plus for the price I dont think you can really loose.

It should also be known that generic cz75 mags won't work in the Jericho. The mec-gar Shadow II mags with the blue followers do work.

My Jericho is not surplus, is .40, and MecGar CZ75 mags work, but shadow II don't. The .40 mags fit in a CZ75 with "enhanced capacity" and actually feed 9mm.

I had one of those older Jerichos. Positive: Fun in a range. Excellent trigger. Good sights. Good ergonomics. Although side grips feel slippery. Very accurate. Slide controls are perfect (for myself). Also, it likes to drop the slide itself while mag exchange (nice feature). Low recoil. Allows easy and fast target acquisition. Price.
Negative: Mine didn't drop mags free. Rusts very quickly if hasn't been oiled. Also, sometimes had malfunctions. When cleaned and oiled performed better.
imho

I got a Taurus 917 when these first started arriving about a year and a half ago, maybe paid a bit much for it $600,but it is cool, the externals has holster wear on the under lug but the internals look almost new, lots of carry but very little shooting and I would think most others would be similar!

Negative: Mine didn't drop mags free. Rusts very quickly if hadn't been oiled. Also, often had malfunctions (with different ammo). A failure to feed or fire, FTE, a double feed. When cleaned and oiled performed better. Again, was fun gun, however, I wouldn't compete with it. imho

Thanks for the honest review Triggered.

Like with most surplus firearms I would assume the internals would be pretty good as they probably have only seen trigger time during the officers annual qualification. I also noticed today that Tenda has some surplus 941s that have been refurbished with Duracoat and they were done by Notch and Post Customs. I prefer the original worn "surplus" look as it add character. Again thanks for replying to my post.

I bought a brand new Jericho 941F, same thing. I like it so much I sold my Gen 5 Glock 9mm. It’s very accurate and I like the extra weight being all metal. Very reliable and feels comfortable in the hand. Some guys complain about racking the slide back but it hasn’t been an issue for me.

My 40 has the slide mounted decocker; it gives something extra to grab on to for racking; and I love the decocking feature. I would like grippier grips; but am still looking.

Has anyone seen any Tanfoglio "Mossad" pistols still for sale? I snoozed on them.

I had not heard of that model so I did a quick search just to check it out and this shop was near the top of the page... probably others out there but I didn't look much further.
